Honestly, I do not recall why I chose this book and unfortunately our trip was cancelled.

We Were Never Here by Andrea Bartz is a fast-paced psychological thriller set in the present day, following two best friends whose annual travel tradition takes a dark and unsettling turn. The story centers on Emily, a cautious and rule-following woman, and her charismatic, free-spirited best friend Kristen. Every year, the two embark on an international trip together, but their vacations share a disturbing pattern—someone ends up dead.

The novel opens in Chile, where the friends are wrapping up their latest trip after another violent incident that Kristen insists was self-defense.
